Corporate Alliances Coordinator

Since 1941, the USO has been the nationís leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side.

Todayís USO continuously adapts to the needs of our men and women in uniform and their families, so they can focus on their very important mission. We operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.

The Corporate Alliances Coordinator is responsible for administrative support of the Corporate Alliances team as it relates to corporate fundraising activities and partnerships.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

  • Provide general administrative support to the VP and Senior Director of Corporate Alliances including, but not limited to, managing calendars, making travel arrangements, preparing travel expense reports, preparing for meetings and events, and organizing files, lists and reports.*
  • Assist with executing corporate partnerships with work product to support relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. These internal tasks include, but are not limited to: ensuring contract execution and filing; supporting Raiserís Edge; Commercial Coventure and stewardship reporting; check requests and; providing logistical support for corporate partner events. Support for external clients includes, but is not limited to: taking notes and producing draft summaries of meetings, compiling stewardship inputs into draft reports, and producing first draft outlines for presentation decks. *
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • High School Diploma. Bachelorís Degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years work experience, preferably in a development support role. Relevant experience in a military, not-for-profit, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively on a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications. Ability to customize communications and outreach for targeted donor audiences.
  • Knowledge of various software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook. Prior experience with Raiserís Edge preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Must be punctual, organized and self-motivated, with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours and/or overtime as needed.
  • Ability to perform basic math and follow proper cash/donation handling and reporting procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driverís license.
  • Must be a strong advocate of the USOís mission to lift the spirits of Americaís troops and their families.


  • This position is located in Arlington, VA. Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance to the location. Remote working arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
