Master Data Management Product Specialist (Temporary)

The Master Data Management (MDM) Product Specialist will manage the Master Data Management project. The MDM Product Specialist will improve partner experiences, enable consistent data flow into the common database, and support the overall creation, organization, and retention of knowledge related to grant efforts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

  • Manage the project and associated sub tasks working closely with the external partners and other organizations. Coordinate internally with the Information Technology team and other internal departments to achieve established project objectives.*
  • Conduct partner data gap and process analysis to determine readiness of a partner to participate in the project.*
  • Plan and designate project resources; coordinate activities and tasks among all partners in the project. Develop and maintain schedules and forecasting plans.*
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify key operational metrics and conduct analysis; ensure all aspects of project are effectively communicated to stakeholders.*
  • Monitor and maintain adequate levels of data quality as data is added to the common database from partner systems. Identify opportunities for improvement of quality across the ecosystem.*
  • Be a data steward for the MDM project and its data assets. Ensure data in/out quality, enforce data governance policies, identify and manage data risks, facilitate data usage and understanding, and foster a culture of responsible data usage across partners.*
  • Prepare and maintain relevant documentation such as: requirements definition, maturity matrixes, data mappings, decisions log, operational procedures.*
  • Develop relevant dashboards utilizing Power BI and presentations to report KPIs and progress on combination of mastered and outcomes data. Produce reports and other project reporting tools for key stakeholders across the project both internal and external.*
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and ROI of the MDM solution over time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • 5+ years work experience in a technology or organizational management support role. Relevant experience in a not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate IT services, program metrics, and system life-cycle management.
  • Ability to write and produce clear and understandable project scope statements, statements of work, requests for information/proposal, requirements specifications, operational procedures, and other business documents.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate and translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Good level of data literacy. Understanding of data lifecycle, knowledge of master data management concepts, ability to communicate data as information, understanding of data privacy, security, and the responsible use of data. Experience working within a data governance framework is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams from inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to use Power BI to create and interpret visual representations of data such as charts and dashboards to effectively communicate insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly and easily to changing organizational needs. Must have strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. Working knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license.

  • This position is a temporary, remote position lasting until approximately July 2025.
