The Director, Marketing Technology Products is responsible for the strategic management, implementation, and optimization of the USO's marketing technology stack. This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness across all marketing and communications channels by leveraging technology, data, and analytics. The Director will lead the development and maintenance of integrated digital platforms and tools, ensuring they support organizational goals, improve user experience, and provide actionable insights.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive roadmap for the USO's marketing technology products, in close partnership with users and IT and Digital Transformation, ensuring the stack is aligned with business objectives and supports fundraising, communications, and program and volunteer outreach efforts.*
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of all marketing technology platforms and tools, including those for content management, digital engagement, social media management, data analytics, advertising, SEO, and marketing automation.*
  • Lead website redesign and consolidation projects.*
  • Oversee the collection, integration, and analysis of marketing data to provide actionable insights. Ensure the integrity and security of data, and work with teams to define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs).*
  • Optimize marketing operations by automating workflows and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.*
  • Manage relationships with vendors and oversee the budget for all marketing technology products and services.
  • Stay current with emerging marketing technologies and trends, identifying opportunities for innovation. Provide training and support for staff on new tools and best practices to maximize their usage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive work experience in marketing technology, product management, or IT leadership role, including 5+ years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing a marketing technology stack, including platforms like CMS (Content Management System), ESP (Email Service Provider), and other marketing automation tools.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Experience with common CMS platforms like WordPress and Drupal
  • Strong working knowledge of digital strategy, data analytics, and project management is necessary.
  • The ability to develop, promote, test, and improve new technical concepts is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. General knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license.
