Multimedia Production Intern

Description/Job Summary

For over 75 years, the USO has been the nationís leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side.

Todayís USO continuously adapts to the needs of our men and women in uniform and their families, so they can focus on their very important mission. We operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Ability to work between 20-30 hours a week on-site.
  • Assist with filming, editing and post-production of USO.org stories, with opportunity to gain valuable clips for resume reel
  • Assist with the post-production of archival USO video, including scrubbing, cataloging and organizing clips.
  • Assist with the editing, tagging and archiving of the USOís historical photos.
  • Work with USO brand development team to assist as needed on written, photo and video projects as requested.
Special Project involvement
  • Migration and archival of USO video, historical and current photography and other digital assets.
Required Qualifications
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, technologically savvy.
  • Ability to use both Macs and PCs.
  • Proven proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere and Photoshop. Working knowledge of After Effects a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of multimedia content management systems. Previous CMS experience is a major plus.
  • Strong writing, researching, organizational and editing skills.
  • A passion for video research and archival/historical projects.
  • Ability to follow directions precisely and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines.
  • Preferably a third- or fourth-year undergraduate student or recent graduate.

  • This position is located in Arlington, Virginia. Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance to the location.
